Forwarding Phones

Overview

Office phone calls can be forwarded to another campus number, a local area number or a long-distance number. This can be done two ways, by setting the forward option directly from the phone or using the Self Care Web Portal.

Forward from the Phone

  1. On the Soft Buttons, click Forward All, or More (if necessary) to see the Forward All button
  2. See Campus numbers, Local Numbers or Long-Distance Numbers below on how to for each option...

Forward from the Cisco Self Care Portal

Using this URL, go to Central’s Cisco Self Care Portal:

  1. https://cucm01.central.edu/ucmuser/main#callforwarding
  2. Click Advanced button > Proceed to cucm01.central.edu(unsafe)
  3. Enter your Central College credentials
  4. Click on Phones > Call Forwarding
  5. Checkmark Forward
  6. Select Add a new number
  7. See Campus numbers, Local Numbers or Long-Distance Numbers below for each option...

A. Campus numbers

This is used to forward from one campus number to another campus number

  1. Using either of the Cisco Self Care Portal, or From the Phone methods above
  2. Type the four-digit extension of the phone you’d like to forward your phone

B. Local Numbers

This is used to forward a campus phone to a local outside number

  1. Using either of the Cisco Self Care Portal, or From the Phone methods above
  2. Type a 9 and the number without the area code...(Ex: 97807010)

C. Long Distance Numbers

This is used to transfer a campus phone to a long-distance number

  1. Using either of the Cisco Self Care Portal, or From the Phone methods above
  2. Replace the 9 with a 68 then use 1 and area code and number
  3. (Ex: 681xxxxxxxxxx) – the 68 eliminates the need to use a long-distance code
  4. *****This does work but does require each call made using the 68 to be manually charged back to the department.
