Central College Volunteer Agreement
General Volunteer Terms
By submitting this document, I agree to volunteer my services to Central College to perform the tasks and activities outlined for my role and under the direction of the Central College employee designated as my supervisor.
I certify that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, I have adequate experience, qualifications, and training for the tasks and activities described, and I am able to perform them without risk of harm to myself or others.
I understand that I am
not personally covered by any Central College insurance policy should I suffer injury of any type while performing volunteer services, and that I must submit any resulting insurance claims to my
personal insurance carriers. I acknowledge that participating as a volunteer may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to property damage, physical injury, travel, use of equipment, weather conditions, interaction with participants, and other unknown risks.
I voluntarily assume all such risks and agree to
indemnify and hold harmless Central College and its agents, employees, and representatives from any liability, claims, or suits arising from injury to my person or property resulting from my presence or volunteer services.
I understand and agree that:
- I am not an employee or agent of Central College.
- I have no expectation of compensation or employee benefits.
- I am donating my time voluntarily.
While serving as a volunteer, I agree to comply with all Central College policies and procedures, available at:
https://policy.central.edu/employees/.
I understand that I may receive or have access to information that is confidential regarding the college, its board of trustees, students, prospective students, parents, or donors. I agree not to disclose such information except:
- When there is a legitimate college reason to share it with another authorized individual;
- When appropriate college officials have expressly authorized disclosure; or
- When disclosure is required by law.
This confidentiality obligation continues even after my volunteer service ends.
I accept the responsibility to report any suspected or known unlawful harassment, sexual or relationship misconduct, or abuse of a minor or dependent adult—along with any other mandatory reporting responsibilities under Iowa law—to the
Central College Title IX Coordinator:
- Phone: (641) 628-5249
- Email: titleIX@central.edu
I understand that I must successfully pass a background check prior to beginning my volunteer position and must complete any required disclosure and authorization forms and trainings as part of that process.
I acknowledge that either I or Central College may terminate my volunteer relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without cause or notice.
