POLICY – SMOKING, VAPING, AND NICOTINE
Overview
Central College is entirely smoke‑free and nicotine‑free, prohibiting smoking, vaping, and all tobacco product use anywhere on college property, including buildings, vehicles, parking lots, and athletic areas.
Definitions
Smoking/vaping/tobacco products: Includes cigarettes, cigars, pipes, smokeless tobacco, e‑cigarettes, and any vapor‑producing devices
Responsibilities
Employees and students: must refrain from using these products on college property and may face sanctions for violations
Visitors: are expected to comply or leave campus if they do not
Policy Details
Central College is a tobacco- and nicotine-free environment. The use of any tobacco, vape, or nicotine product is strictly prohibited. Prohibited tobacco, vape, and nicotine products include, but are not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, chew, other tobacco or tobacco-like products, vapes, and all nicotine products not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for tobacco cessation.
Use of these products is prohibited on all college property and grounds; this includes, but is not limited to, parking lots, athletics fields, stadia, and within any campus building, College vehicle, or personal vehicles while on college property.
This policy is in effect at all times, including college sponsored as well as non-college sponsored events, and including college-owned/leased vehicles and buildings.
For employees and students, a violation of this policy may result in discipline or sanctions, while visitors may be asked to leave campus.
