Pest Control

Introduction/Overview

The presence of pests at one time or another in a campus building is inevitable. Common pests include but are not limited to spiders, ants, wasps, cockroaches, mice, flies, mosquitoes, etc.  Every member of the campus community plays a role in pest prevention. Taking precautions to prevent pests from entering the campus facilities is the first step to safe and prudent pest control. If we all practice the following behaviors, together we can keep our campus spaces pest free.  Help prevent pests with these simple tips:
  • Report holes in window screens and gaps around exterior doors.
  • Keep personal rooms and workspaces clean.
  • Keep food items in tightly sealed containers.
  • After eating or preparing food, clean up thoroughly.  Wash dirty dishes, wipe counters and tables.
  • Empty your garbage regularly and dispose of empty pizza and food boxes in the trash and bring to the designated community trash or dumpster immediately.
  • Vacuum and dust regularly.
