Overview
Current Central College Employees and Student have a Microsoft 365 email account. Outlook, part of Microsoft 365, is used to read email.
Although students and employees use a slightly different email syntax, they work the same way.
- Employee address is your last name, first initial followed by @central.edu (Bob White = whiteb@central.edu)
- Student email address is your last name, first initial, plus a number followed by @central.edu (Jane Doe = doej1@central.edu)
Central College uses email for official communications, and you must check your Central email account regularly.
Access to Central email
There is only one email account per person, but multiple ways of reading the email. Access it through a web browser or the Microsoft Outlook app from a computer or mobile device.
Central College owned computers have the Microsoft Outlook desktop app installed and set up for each user.
Your Central email account can be synced with most mobile devices and desktop programs.
Web browser - go to my.Central.edu and select Microsoft 365 email or type in the URL: mail.central.edu.
Mobile Devices - ITS highly recommends downloading the Microsoft Outlook app for email and calendar.
Desktop app - Students download Microsoft Office from office.com.
**Be sure to check your SPAM folder if you are missing an email sent to you.
Access to Central email Account after Graduation
After graduating, students will retain their @central.edu email address and access to myCentral for 13 months AFTER graduation. On June 30 the following year your Central Accounts are officially de-activated.
