Merge new Teams call with an existing call

While you're on a Teams meeting or call with another person (or a group meeting/call), you might decide you want to ask someone else a relevant question.

You can make another call while you're still on the first call. When the second call connects, you can merge it with your first call.

  • Go to the More Actions ellipses and select to place the initial call on Hold.
  • Go to your primary Teams app and begin a call with the second caller.
  • When the second call connects, go to the call controls, and select the More Actions ellipses > Call merge.

Merge incoming Teams call with an existing call

While you're on a call in Teams, you might receive a call from another person (or a group call) and decide you want to merge the new call with the call you're already on.

  • Select the Accept button from the pop-up window. When you accept the new call, your other call will automatically be put on hold.
  • Go to the call controls and select the More actions ellipses > Call merge to choose to merge the new call with your first call.
  • A pop-up window will appear allowing you to choose a call to merge. Select Merge.
  • The two calls will now be merged into one call between all parties.
